017 Dance Show

03.03.17

After school on Thursday 2 March, nineteen Abbotsholme pupils made their way to The Regent Theatre in Stoke to perform in the 017 Dance Show. The theme for the show for all performers was 'Around the World.' Miss Amy, the Abbotsholme dance teacher put together a routine that had our Sixth Form boys as pilots, our girls as air stewardesses (and some Egyptian dancing once they had arrived at their destination), and with Year 2 off on their summer holiday.

The pupils worked extremely hard in preparation for the show, and for many it was the first time performing on stage, and in front of a crowd of strangers. Nerves kicked in as they stood at the side of stage waiting for their cue to start, but the music started and they confidently bounced into their moves. The pupils can be extremely proud of their performance. Of all the schools and dance groups performing, Abbotsholme had the most boys, the youngest pupils, the biggest age range and the best moves!

The dance show has highlighted the relationship between our Senior and Junior pupils. The Sixth Form boys, Pippa, Joey and the Year 7 girls have been amazing with the prep school pupils. Watching them help the little ones back stage and on the side of stage has been great.

Congratulations to our Senior School dancers on their excellent dancing, and their positive, fun and engaging attitude with the Prep School pupils.

And of course praise to our superb Prep School dancers, Eleanor, Nina, Ruby, Seren, Hollie, Conor, Cecilia, Anais and Amelie.
